tips for bass fishing on saltwater… lures color etc..
I have a 145 Saltwater tank and I wanted to know if they eat any small fish, are there any fish of their preference (lol) ? I have a Ocellaris clownfish 2 damsels a yellow and a Bubble tip anemone and some snail and hermit crabs….. are any of those in danger? ALSO: What is the diffrence between A red BS (BR = Brittle Star) a green BS a fancy BS and so on? best answer will be the one that answers all of my questions!!!! will give you 5 stars!
ALSO do you know how/when/what to feed a SAND SIFTING SEA STAR?
i’m doing tons of research on the fish and the aquarium care before i get them because i would never want to harm any animal especially saltwater fish they are so beautiful so i was wondering if any of the fish can go together or if some of them cant be with others and if anyone has any tips for me i would really appreciate it
Ten month old tank
contained two clown fish, fire shrimp, plate coral, bubble tip anemone (small), blue mushrooms and spotted mushrooms, brain coral, another soft coral, coco worm, nassarius snails, trochus snails, nerite snails and some zoanthids. Everyone doing great. Water is perfect. change 20 to 30% every 10 days or so = check water often – daily to every other day. use marine snow once a week, feed brine shrimp and a good pellet food (not too much) etc.
two weeks ago, added pepermint shrimp, helfrichi firefish goby, two blue-green chromis, two sunshine chromis, green mandarin, two emerald crabs, two blue maximus clams, elegance coral and a wall hammer coral.
they all acclimated well no problems and were added to the tank. Within thirty to forty minutes one of the blue-green chromis was acting strange and the next morning he was GONE. well the other blue-green chromis was very small and took to a small cave – well 36 hours later he looked bad – laying on his side could hardly breathe (this was at night) next day – saw an emerald crab finishing the little bit that was left of him (this crab did not bother him when he was doing poorly – i saw him bump into him and keep going a couple times). Soooo now everyone is fine right?
NO two days later one of the sunshine chromis (who was very small) goes missing and now the firefish goby.
My water is PERFECT. So i look up the hammer coral – cause the only thing all these fish have in common is that they all hang out around that area in a cave or just in the area. Apparently they have venom and sweepers they use at night. Most literature claims they will only harm other coral, but, some literature claims they will harm coral and other animals.
I brought the hammer coral to the local store and the guy said he doubted it was the coral – let him check the water. He checked the water and it IS PERFECT – he was actually amazed and now thinks maybe it was the hammer coral.
We have a brand new protein skimmer that is working perfect – also.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS
I DONT WANT TO FIND ANYMORE DEAD FISH
THANK YOU
THE PROTEIN SKIMMER WAS ALWAYS WORKING PERFECTLY – EVEN BEFORE NEW FISH AND CORAL WERE ADDED.
